BRAND IDENTITY

THE CHRONICLES

MAIN LOGO

Cassandra Callaway is a writer and poet who embarked on a freelancing career and needed some branding to represent her and her work. Her words are strong, beautiful and feminine.

I remember when I was briefed on this project and knowing exactly the direction I wanted to take it. I wanted the branding to reflect her style or writing, which was romantic yet feminine with a dark edge.

I wanted to include some sort of symbol from literature or punctuation to give this logo a deeper meaning. I did some research on symbols and found that:

Curly brackets- { } —also called braces in the US (or, colloquially, squiggly brackets)—are used in specialized ways in poetry and music (to mark repeats or joined lines).   -- Wikipedia

So I adopted this symbol and built it in the 'C' of the logo. It was nice to include this subtle double meaning.

Unfortunately this branding project never eventuated as the writer changed their business direction. Felt that this was too pretty to remain hidden in my files.
