HUMMINGBIRDS

ILLUSTRATION

This piece will always have a special place in my heart. I did this after a long stint of no drawing and it was just a massive release of artistic goodness.
I played around with paint and the good ol' butterfly paint technique that they first teach you back in kindergarten (where you place random blobs of paint on to paper then fold the paper in half to create patterns).

I layered the paints multiple times and just loved how faint 'vein' marks were made with the paint. Once I was happy with this, I then went and added in the flowers and birds with graphite pencil and the bright green/yellow colour with pencil.

I love hearing all the different shapes and objects that people see in this almost 'Rorschach' style of painting. They commonly see a man wearing a hat or a cat's face. What do you see?
